On July 23, 2009, The Cicero Fire Department conducted a Fire Prevention Program, Summer Camp at Cicero Elementary School on Route 31 in Cicero. There were over 90 children who participated in the 40 minute program. Steve Jones with the assistance of Dave Nicholas, Eric Nicholas, Steve Schlie, and Shannon Manley, provided the children with the importance of smoke detectors and escape routes at home. Steve Jones explained about how we receive calls for emergencies through the 911 Center, Blue Lights for responding firefighters to the fire station and Steve Schlie demonstrated protective equipment and tools. The children really enjoyed looking through the compartments and cab on our 100 foot aerial truck.
